The product has been successfully trialed as a replacement for the anthracite used in ilmenite smelting processes at Rio Tinto\u2019s metallurgical complex in Sorel-Tracy, a world-leading producer of high-grade titanium dioxide feedstock as well as iron and steel for specialised applications. Rio Tinto has also made a further equity investment in Aymium. The second investment is part of Rio Tinto\u2019s support for the innovations needed to meet its 2030 emission reduction targets and deliver low-carbon supply chains.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element dot-h2 wpb_custom_7c91d232724f73626cc933bd95b25ff0\" >\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t\t\t<h2>THE PARTNERSHIP<\/h2>\n<p>In 2024, Rio Tinto and Aymium teamed up on a project to develop strategic biocarbon activities. The product of that partnership, \u00c9volys, is now Canada\u2019s leading producer of biocarbon.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row row top-row immediately available replacement for the coal products needed for ilmenite processing and other large-scale industrial BIOCARBON?<\/h2>\n<p>To produce its biocarbon, \u00c9volys sources certified renewable wood fibres from local suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>The fibre comes from regional forestry partners and mainly consists of residues from the forestry sector and from species.<\/p>\n<p>These wood fibres are processed using our innovative pyrolysis technology.<\/p>\n<p>The renewable biocarbon produced by \u00c9volys will replace fossil products, allowing Quebec industries to reduce their emissions.<\/p>\n<p>The metallurgical biocarbon produced by \u00c9volys is the chosen replacement for the anthracite used in some of
